Colm began his career as a painter in London in 1988, working on residential projects, exhibitions and in Pinewood Film Studios.

Having moved to Boston in 1994, he managed a large team of painters for a remodelling company that specialised in the restoration and improvement of stately homes throughout Massachusetts. He then set up his own painting business “Mooney Painting”. The business catered for wooden houses and involved teams of up to four doing intricate wood work to recondition and refresh weather worn and damaged panels. The interior work consisted of major repairs to damaged plasterwork and painting. Depending on the client, the business offered free design advice or complete in home design, where Colm would have total control of the colours and design of the interior of the residence.

The Company

After moving back to Ireland in 2005 he set up Top Class Painting. Although a lot of his work is residential, Top Class Painting has worked on Schools, Convents, Resteraunts, Aparment and Office blocks. He also still does exhibition work from time to time and has completed projects in Madrid, Geneva, and London.

Decorating service

In the summer we carry out a lot of exterior painting. It can vary from just part of a small bungalow to large multi-owned properties, offices, schools and the occasional block of flats. The season for exterior decorations runs roughly from April to end of October depending on the Irish weather, which as you know varies from year to year.

Interior decorations go on all year round. We are lucky in that if the customer moves they call us in to decorate their new home. If the customer decides to stay this quite often brings on a decision to redecorate instead of moving. So as you can see we get a chance of some business at both ends of the scale.

Residential

When it comes to residential work, both interior and exterior, we are able to carry out the following services:

Small amounts of general carpentry, tiling, plastering and plumbing.

Correction of any and all cracks and holes before decorating.

Prepare and paint any surface, whether to a top class standard, or for just a tidy up.

Please note: There are jobs too small for us to take on mainly because as a company coming to paint one door, etc, it would be price prohibitive for the customer. On the other hand we are willing and able to take jobs as small as a single room and as large as a whole house, no matter what its size. Being a company does allow us to offer you a fast and comprehensive service. In other words we can come in sooner and carry the work out in less time.

Commercial

Our commercial division has the facility to carry out jobs both large and small. We employ high quality, experienced decorators and production managers to deliver the project on time and on budget. We also provide a service for limited building work, if required as part of the decorations.

Our work ecompasses everything from offices and shops, to schools, hospitals and government buildings.

Further work

Although we are a painting and decorating company, we work in conjunction with plasteres, brick layers, tilers, plumbers, electricians and builders. For any other work that is needed for your home or business, do not hesitate to ask.
